CITY OF BROOKFIELD, WI — Because of elevated mosquito larvae counts, the City of Brookfield will conduct treatment of its mosquito abatement program on Wednesday, it said in a news release.
Clark Environmental Mosquito Management Inc. will treat 498.2 acres in areas primarily located in the Fox -Myer corridor area and the Wirth-Park wetlands area. The treatment will be done by helicopter using a biolarvicide, a product that destroys larvae.
The treatment begins at daybreak and continues during the morning hours.
There are no restrictions for public use of the treated areas; however, park users are cautioned to avoid using the areas while the treatment is being conducted.
Future treatment dates and ongoing information may also be obtained by contacting the city's website or by calling the mosquito program information line at 262-796-6711.
