Good Afternoon. This is Mayor Tenke with a Tropical Storm Henri update. The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Long Island due to the potential effects of Tropical Storm Henri. Heavy rains, storm force winds and storm surge may be anticipated on Sunday, August 22nd from 5:00 a.m. through 8:00 p.m., so be prepared with flashlights, water, and emergency supplies. Glen Cove's DPW team has already been preparing for the storm by cleaning and inspecting catch basins and will be on-call for the community's needs.
Glen Cove's Office of Emergency Management will be monitoring the storm throughout the weekend and will provide updated information as it becomes available.
In case of emergencies, power loss and unforeseen situations, please keep these numbers on hand and charge your cell phones.
