61 West St. In Middletown will be used as a training site for Middletown's Firefighters. People may be seeing smoke coming from the site: From: City of Middletown Professional Firefighters Local 1073 Facebook: Attention: Over the next two weeks, members will be conducting training evolutions during the day at a property located at 61 West Street. The property is being demolished, and the owner has granted us access to perform fire and rescue evolutions both inside and outside the structure. People passing by may see apparatus gathered and smoke coming from the building during daylight hours, but that smoke will be from smudge pots and smoke machines in order to simulate the smoke conditions we experience in a real emergency.
