Westfield Issues Guidance As Hurricane Henri Nears

WESTFIELD, NJ — The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for all of Union County through Monday as well as a tropical storm warning for eastern Union County due to Hurricane Henri, which is expected to make landfall on Long Island. (Track the storm using this National Hurricane Center link.) "The Westfield Police and Fire Departments are closely monitoring the storm," Westfield said in an alert Saturday, "and the Downtown Westfield Corporation has advised all businesses to dismantle all outdoor dining items in anticipation of high winds. PSE&G has advised that they are preparing for the possibility of high winds that can cause flying debris and bring down trees and power lines."
