From Purdue University Northwest: August 20, 2021 Are you a parent or guardian to a future first-generation or income eligible student who has a strong desire to attend college after graduation and attends Calumet New Tech, Thea Bowman Leadership Academy, West Side Leadership Academy, East Chicago Central, Morton or Hammond Central School? If so, your scholar may benefit from being in the Upward Bound Program – a federally funded program housed at Purdue University Northwest that at no cost, provide the following free services for your teen until High School Graduation. Upward Bound Benefits Supplemental instruction and tutoring Attendance at student leadership conferences across the USA College visitations throughout the USA ACT/SAT prep College application fee waivers Free bus pickup/drop-off service to and from Purdue University Northwest $40 per month stipend Academic honors diploma Hands-on support with college applications College credit while in high school On-campus residence experience Cultural and enrichment activities (plays on Broadway, museums, historical sites, theme parks, etc.) To be considered for the Upward Bound Program, please fill out the application here.
