(ABC10)It's a little known fact that every county designs its own ballot and its own envelope for mail-in voting. Sacramento County's envelope has holes next to the signature line. This has prompted a social media frenzy about the reason for the holes and whether they compromise the confidentiality of your vote. According to Janna Haynes, a spokesperson for the Sacramento County Voter Registration and Elections Office, these holes do not compromise confidentiality. They actually serve a dual purpose, both to ensure blind people know where to sign their ballot and to allow vote counters to ensure every ballot has been tabulated. (ABC10)The Wildwood Performing Arts Foundation out of Folsom canceled its Friday performance of the Gold Country Hayride concert to instead hold a free private concert for those forced to leave their homes due to the Caldor Fire. It was a small bit of relief for people who have been through so much. (FOX40)The nationwide bus driver shortage is impacting Elk Grove schools. The morning routes are all covered, but the district is having a problem getting the afternoon routes covered. Officials are relying on parents to pick kids up from school. EGUSD administrators says they don't know when schedules will return to normal. They are working to recruit and they say that they're going to invest in more training and benefits for those employees to try to help alleviate the problem. (KCRA3)Olympic gymnast Simone Biles will headline the "Gold Over America" gymnastics tour that is coming to Golden 1 Center in September. She'll be joined by Jordan Chiles and Grace McCallum, who, along with Biles, won the silver for the team event, Jade Carey, who won the gold medal in floor exercise, and Mykayla Skinner who won the silver in the vault.
