Press release from the McHenry County Government: 08/19/2021 2:09 PM  PRESS RELEASE August 20, 2021 FRANK AMATO SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State's Attorney, announces that on August 18, 2021, Frank Amato, 47, pled guilty to the offense of Attempted Murder and was sentenced to 15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.  Under Truth in Sentencing guidelines, Amato must serve 85% of this sentence.  On March 31, 2020 officers of the Harvard Police Department responded to a report of shots fired.  Upon arrival, officers located the victim who indicated that Amato had shot him.  Amato fled from the scene and was ultimately apprehended in Wisconsin.   This case was investigated by members of the Harvard Police Department.
