Livermore Public Library will host two Latinx / Hispanic Heritage Month Celebrations featuring Mariachi San Francisco. The first performance will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 12:30 p.m. in front of the Civic Center Library, located at 1188 S. Livermore Avenue, Livermore, CA 94550. The second performance will be held on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. on the basketball courts next to the Rincon Branch Library, located at 725 Rincon Avenue, Livermore, CA 94551.
Participants will enjoy a live, musical performance and learn about mariachi music, including the various instruments, songs, and traditional costumes. In the past, mariachi ensembles were made up of all male musicians, but Mariachi San Francisco is a unique 10-piece ensemble composed of male and female musicians. This event is free and for all ages. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Livermore Public Library.
