Press release from the City of Raleigh: Aug 20, 2021 Raleigh Parks will install a micro-soccer (or futsal) pitch at Peach Road Park in partnership with the US Soccer Foundation(link is external), The Bucy Foundation(link is external) and the NC Courage(link is external). Work will begin in Fall 2021 and is expected to be complete by the end of October 2021. US Soccer will fund the installation of the Musco "All-In-One" court system that will include acrylic surfacing, perimeter wall system, and court lighting.  What is futsal? Futsal is a fast-paced ball sport similar to soccer but typically played on a small, hard surface court.  Games are played between two teams of five, including a goalkeeper for each side. Players use a smaller, harder, low-bounce ball to score goals. Futsal is a game that outdoor soccer players around the globe play to refine and maintain their ball control skills.
