Potential full time career in future at our new facility, currently under construction. employment type: part-time to full time Available immediately. Need ranch help Monday through Friday, approximately 25 - 35+ hours/week. Duties include feeding about 15 horses, cleaning a few paddocks and a few stalls in AM, dragging and watering arena (I can teach this... easy stuff), raking, sweeping, turnouts of horses, cleaning waters, and raking arena sand, shoveling sand, handwalking horses, grooming, tacking horses up and untacking for professional trainer (1 - 2 days/wk), cleaning of tack, lounge, bathroom and hay/feed rooms. Main daily duties are feeding, arena maintenance, cleaning pens and raking/sweeping barn with some grooming. Ideally someone who lives locally, within Nipomo, Santa Maria, Arroyo Grande areas... ideally Nipomo (to make it worth while to drive here). It probably won't work if you live in SLO... too much driving for amount of work, but up to you. Looking for someone who is committed. I am not interested in a helper who is only available for a few days or weeks. Please do not call if this is an "in between job" until you find something else. I'm not interested in training someone who is only going to be here for a short while. HORSE EXPERIENCE a big plus! Leading a horse properly, picking hooves, groom, put horse blankets on and take off, put a halter on properly, flymasks, etc. Basic horse knowledge is a Must: know what colic is and how to recognize it, know basic anatomy of a horse's body, common sense of knowing to LOCK GATES (when you enter and leave) etc. Just looking for someone with basic horse knowledge. If you don't have experience with horses, you may still inquire. A LOT of training will be involved on my end, so we would have to discuss, but I'm willing to teach the RIGHT individual for the job! MUST speak some English, be reliable, honest, respectful with a good attitude, and responsible. Must be comfortable and confident around horses (stallions and young horses on site). Must be willing to drive to location. Must be willing to work in any season (rain or shine, wind, muddy conditions, etc.) Ranch job is $13/hour cash to start with increase in pay possible for the RIGHT PERSON!! Willing to consider partial work trade out for a personal boarded horse and/or training/lessons if desired. Working students welcome. Also able to give more work for the right person doing extra jobs around the property. Someone with ability to repair fences, posts, general labor a bonus, with more pay. I am eventually looking for a full time on-site ranch hand, with housing available. We also are in the process of building a new facility. We need help moving brush, putting up panels and shelters, water lines, landscaping, and more... so there is LOTS of potential for more work for the right person!  This is a physical job. Looking for an individual who wants/likes a physical job. If we really find the right individual, there is potential for a full time career, with possible housing (in the near future... a few months) and extras, with managing and maintaining an equine boarding/training facility. :-) Great opportunity! This job is located at a professional dressage training and horse starting facility. Come be a part of our team. We look forward to meeting you! Call or text Karen at eight zero five - five nine eight - three seven one seven. Or email. Thanks! I look forward to meeting my next awesome helper! :-)
