Volunteers Needed to Test New Garden Tool Device

Jobs

Description

Local professional gardener and inventor is looking for avid gardener/weekend warrior type homeowners to test out a garden tool invention in their garden beds and yards. It is called the Prop-A-Tool, and it is attached to the handle of a long-handled garden tool. It allows the user to prop the tool "on the spot" when the time comes to disengage from the tool, rather than having to either drop the tool down to the ground (and then subsequently having to stoop over to retrieve it!), or having to find some other object, hopefully nearby, to lean it up against. The device is lightweight and very easy to use, and allows for much less back bending during a work chore, and more efficient work habits overall. Moreover, since the propped tool is very highly visible, you are much less likely to step on it, or trip over it, or to leave it behind when the task at hand is completed. A volunteer in this testing program will be given a free steel-tined leaf rake, which has a Prop-A-Tool device installed on it (see attached photographs), and will be asked to use the tool as they normally would in their usual home landscaping/gardening activities. The tool and device are theirs to keep after the testing program ends, with the expectation that at the end of the testing period, which will be in late November or so, the volunteer will provide honest feedback concerning the usefulness of the invention, and any problems associated with it. This feedback will be in the form of either a brief in-person or phone conversation, or a short email survey, and the information gathered will assist the inventor in making possible future revisions to the device, as well as guiding future decisions about pursuing the manufacturing of the device on a large scale. I am looking for volunteers who live in the same general neighborhoods as my client list, so that I can conveniently deliver the test rake to you during my usual work day, so I am looking for volunteers who reside in the Syracuse SU area, DeWitt, Manlius, Fayetteville, Jamesville, Pompey, LaFayette, Fabius and Cazenovia areas. So, if you are interested in being part of the invention process, and particularly if you want to try out a really neat garden tool device for free, please send me your contact information and I'll be in touch. (FYI, photographs four and five show the actual Razorback rake that is being given away in this testing program.) Hope to hear from you, and thank you in advance, Dick Lewis, owner of The Garden Keeper
