GENERAL LABORER – STRUCTURAL STEEL

Long-standing and rapidly growing steel erection company needs experienced field labor for multiple job sites in the San Antonio / Austin and surrounding areas. We are actively engaged in a variety of commercial, industrial and government projects involving steel erection and need additional crew members to support our growth. This is a physically demanding job that will definitely keep you in shape and involves climbing, lifting, balancing, stooping, and handling materials and supplies. You should also be comfortable working at heights. You will be rigging iron, ensuring drills are moved from panel to panel, that shim packs are on the piers, and that fire extinguishers are at every welding station. You will also be cleaning anchor bolts, and putting in lap screws. At the end of each day, you will be removing trash from the job site, making sure all bottles have caps, welders are locked down and strapped, tool boxes are locked, welding torches and gauges are secure, ladders are tied down, and fire extinguishers are properly stored on our trucks. You should be comfortable working at challenging site locations and in all types of weather. As an integral member of a crew, you should be absolutely reliable at all times and focused on the work with no drama or personal issues that will impact your effectiveness. You should also be focused on attaining daily targets set by the site foreman. We’re looking for a couple of years of experience, but if you’re new and really want to work, we’ll give you a shot and train you. Also, if you’re looking for more responsibility, we will provide additional training and certifications as we always try to promote from within. You should have a clean driving record and be able to pass a drug screen, as we do pre-employment and random testing. Bilingual Spanish-English is a definite plus.
