... Screening tests available include cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, and body mass index. Health educators will be available at the screening to help you understand your results and what the information means for your health. IMPORTANT: If you plan to have your cholesterol tested please do not eat any food or drink any beverages other than water ("fast") for 12 hours prior to your test appointment for more accurate biometric numbers. The Community Health Education Center's mission is to inform and empower patients, families, community members and hospital staff by providing accurate health information. Visiting the CHEC can be an important step in finding health information, and wellness programs and services in our community. CHEC services are available to anyone in our community, regardless of whether they are currently a patient at Salem Hospital. Salem Health Employees: Employees are entitled to a discount on CHEC classes but you need to register by phone at 503-814-2432 (toll free 866-977-2432) to get the discount. The CHEC is open Monday-Friday between 8am-5pm.
