Residential building located in Coney Island/Brighton Beach area of South Brooklyn, next to Q and F trains, is seeking a maintenance worker/handyman. Temporary to permanent position: starting as a temp with an opportunity to become a permanent union employee in 3-6 months. This is a full-time position (40 hours a week), 8 hour shifts during the day and/or evening and on weekends. The candidate will join the team of 25 maintenance workers. Starting compensation is $16.20/hour. The rate increases to $20.25/hour once the employee becomes a union member in 3-6 months. There are further increases as per collective bargaining agreement. Seeking a candidate who: - has building maintenance experience; - has basic knowledge of building plumbing, electrical, painting, plastering and carpentry; - has basic knowledge of conversational English and can write work tickets in English; - is hardworking and able to work with minimal supervision.
