$2500 Sign on Bonus! *The sign on bonus will be paid after 90 days of employment* Primary Purpose: Maintain all equipment by scheduling preventative maintenance, handling repairs to meet all state and federal safety regulations. Responsibilities: Perform repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance on all company vehicles and equipment Keep shop tools ready for use by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests using scanners, electronic test equipment, and on-board diagnostic computers Maintain equipment in good operating order according to OSHA standards. Repair failures; removing, replacing, assembling, and installing parts and components involving sheet metal, frames, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, engine, and brake systems, heating and refrigeration units axles, hubs, tires, wheels, and coupling units. Maintain equipment records by recording service and repairs Ensure legal compliance by performing required vehicle state and federal inspections according to specified time frames. Follow safety procedures adhering to all safety procedures established by federal and state regulations (OSHA), as well as safety policies of Burke Prepare reports; follow all procedures to document safety violations and/or accidents Work with all manufacture warranties by following all manufacture warranty guidelines, scheduling all warranty work, and making sure all warranty work is covered by the manufacturer Assist in property maintenance, snow removal, building maintenance, etc. Required Skills: • Mechanical Inspection Tools • Tooling skills • Verbal and written communication • Attention to Detail, thoroughness • Dependability • Technical Zeal Experience: Must be able to read codes and instructions on the computer Must be able to document repairs on the computer High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred Must have a Valid Driver's License Prefer a Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain one Certifications, helpful 5 years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair including: PM's, tire & wheel, air & hydraulic brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical trouble- shooting, electronic component repair and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in refrigeration &/or overhauls and rebuilds of heavy-duty diesel engines and transmissions Prefer certifications in tire & wheel, brakes, AC &/or EPA, engine rebuild, DOT inspections, transmissions, engines Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and on-call rotations for roadside assistance Behavioral Characteristics: • Works at a steady even pace juggling multiple projects and tasks • Continual problem solving/identification • Works in a fast paced environment. • Technical/analytical focus • Works within established systems, standards, and procedures. • Communication style is based on job knowledge and expertise • Authoritative, quick decision making within defined span of control • Focused on established systems and technologies • Minimal risk taking • Focused on job knowledge and expertise • Need for collaboration is minimal • Leadership is focused on efficient, accurate, quality work output Core Values: Trust, Responsibility, Leadership, Teamwork, Enthusiasm, Safety Employment Classifications: Job Title: Mechanic Reports to: Maintenance Manager Department: Operations Direct Reports: none FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
