Description

Ariana's Farewell! “When I dare to be powerful — to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.”— Audre Lorde Three years ago, Ariana Quinones (they, them, theirs) brought their passion to the YWCA and has been a force for good with us ever since! Ariana began their journey with us by leading our WREF programming (Scholarships & Hall of Fame), developing the Y Leaders Program and expanding our Stand Against Racism, Human Rights Breakfast, Courageous Conversations/Common Ground and Reading to End Racism events. Most recently, Ariana has also been working alongside of the Girls Empowered Through Meaningful Support (GEMS) program as well as developing curriculum and facilitating programs with the Westchester Center for Racial Equity. Ariana's role as Director of Racial Justice and Youth Initiatives has been pivotal within the organization and has greatly contributed to our mission-centric work. They are a fierce advocate, community builder and leader within the Westchester Community and will be greatly missed at the YWCA. We hope that you will be able to join us in honoring and celebrating Ariana!
