Description

This is a benefit concert for the Community Food Box Project featuring Mr. Everett Greene. To celebrate the 5 year anniversary of Community Food Box Project, we will host a benefit concert featuring Mr. Everett Greene. For the past 5 years, Community Food Box Project (CFBP) has provided 24 hour access to non-perishable food items to people living with food insecurity. CFBP refurbishes old newspaper boxes and turns them into little pantries for people to take what they need, when they need it. There are now over 60 locations all over the state of Indiana, Texas, and even overseas. Everett Greene is a native of Washington D.C., and an Emmy award winning musician, writer, and actor. In 1952, he served in the Korean War. Afterward, he settled in Indianapolis and began singing doo-wop, jazz and gospel in nightclubs along Indiana Avenue. Once Mr. Greene retired in 1984 he was able to focus more on his music career, and he recorded his first album in 1994. Since, Mr. Greene has recorded 3 albums and worked with hundreds of musicians. Please join us for a wonderful afternoon with one of Indianapolis' Jazz Legends
