Description
Help us prepare a home for an Afghan family escaping the Taliban: a former U.S. Army Interpreter, his wife and their five children. Escaping to Dallas: U.S. Army Interpreter and his Family Right now a former U.S. Army Interpreter, his wife and their five children are working to escape the Taliban in Afghanistan. They have the Special Immigration Visa. You have seen the many disturbing photos and videos. The situation at the airport is desperate, and communication challenging. Catholic Charities Dallas tells us they could arrive in the middle of the night, with little warning. The earliest they are expected is this Monday, 8/23. An Apartment is Waiting: Let's Make It a Home Catholic Charities has a three-bedroom apartment waiting for them in Dallas. Please join your friends and neighbors as we work together to make it a home, filling it with the essentials they need. Donation Drive: Sunday, August 22 Please click on this link to see a list of items needed for the home. As you can see, almost everything is needed, from light bulbs and soap, to towels and bedding. To ensure safety and quality, please do not donate used items. Volunteers will be in the parking lot of Joe O's Dry Clean Super Center at the corner of Fitzhugh and Travis this Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to receive donations. They will be delivered to Catholic Charities Dallas Monday, 8/23. If you prefer a cash donation, it can be made directly via this link. Please note in the "how heard" section that it is for Afghan Refugees. To assist us in determining need for volunteers and transport, please confirm your intent to donate by reserving a "ticket." If you cannot donate, please know your offering of a prayer for this family's safe passage is also deeply needed and appreciated.
