Dynamic player development sessions designed with a purposeful plan to help each player become more skilled and confident in their game. COACHES ZAC BOSTER Zac Boster has been working successfully on court and consulting with local players for the last ten years. He has worked extensively with the last eight Northwest Herald Players of the Year (Amanze Egekeze, Zach Knobloch, Adam Pischke, Cam Krutwig, Zach Toussaint 2x winner, Beau Frericks, and Matthew Volkening) as well as other top tier talent across the Chicagoland area. His clientele base now ranges from those competing at the highest levels to those just starting out. In addition to his years of experience in player development, he has coaching experience at the middle school, high school varsity, and collegiate level. RYAN HARTMAN Ryan Hartman has been in player development for over five years. Working with clients ranging from NBA, overseas pros, multiple levels of college all the way down to middle school. Ryan graduated from Northern Michigan university where he spent two seasons and a Graduate Assistant coach.Ryan also has four years of experience coaching at the high school level and is currently the boys varsity assistant at Prairie Ridge High school. CLAY HENRICKSEN Clay Henricksen is entering his 5th year as the assistant varsity coach for the Huntley Girls Basketball program. Prior to joining the varsity staff he served as both the head and assistant coach at the Frosh/Soph level for four years. Prior to his time at Huntley, Clay served as a sophomore assistant and varsity assistant for the Grayslake North boys basketball program during the 2012-2013 season. In addition Clay has also worked as a player development coach with both middle school and high school aged players while also assisting with collegiate and professional players. *The staff believes in helping to develop players with purpose by preparing them for success at whatever level they are at. We look to accomplish this by teaching game skills and by demanding winning habits every day from the players that we serve. SCHEDULE August 23rd-Ball Body Movement Players will learn a variety of tactics to break down defenders 1 v 1 out of the triple threat and in live dribble scenarios. The importance of leveraging angles, changing pace, and changing direction will be heavily emphasized. Skills will be taught in 1 v 0 breakdown, advantage 1 v 1, and live 1 v 1. August 25th- Navigating the Paint Players will learn how to finish at the rim more effectively and efficiently Concepts and skills taught in the first week will carry over to the second week and players will learn how to decelerate and even completely stop to create advantages for themselves in the paint. Skills will be taught in 1 v 0 breakdown, advantage 1 v 1, and live 1 v 1. August 30th- Shooting off the Dribble Players will learn the keys to properly shoot off the dribble and create space for themselves in the mid range. Attacking efficient spots on the floor for pull ups will be heavily emphasized. Skills will be taught 1 v 0, 1 v 1, and live 1 v 1. September 1st- Attacking Closeouts & Decision Making on Drives Players will learn the importance of a “.5 Mentality” by making quick decisions off the catch while also being able to make secondary reads when the defense rotates. Skills will be taught 1 v 0, 1 v 1, 2 v 2, and 3 v 3. The first four sessions will culminate in live FIBA rules 3 v 3. -Each session will begin with 60 minutes of skill work and culminate with 30 minutes of shooting. -In addition to the on court sessions, each player will be sent a 5-7 minute film breakdown of the specific skills/concepts taught that week as well as a workout plan that they can follow on their own at home during off days. -Players will need to bring their own basketball and will be expected to arrive at each session in a timely manner, listen, receive coaching, and work as hard as they can for the duration of the session.
