Protect Chicago Music Series: Chosen Few DJs A partnership between the Chicago Department of Public Health and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), this Protect Chicago Music Series event will feature live music from house-music collective the Chosen Few DJs. The show will be held at the Kennedy King College campus on August 28 from 12pm-7pm and will be open only to Chicago residents age 18 and up who are fully vaccinated by August 14. Tickets are free for Chicago residents who are vaccinated against COVID-19. Registrations are on a first come, first-serve basis. There will be a limited number of tickets available and individuals are strongly encouraged to register early. Attendees must be 18+ and be vaccinated against COVID-19. Those who are not yet vaccinated must have received their final dose of a two-dose vaccine or a single-dose vaccine on or before Saturday, August 14 to attend. You must bring your Eventbrite ticket, a photo ID, and proof of vaccination to enter the event. COVID-19 vaccines are widely available and offered at no cost. About The Chosen Few DJs: Founded in 1977 by Wayne Williams, the Chosen Few DJs is a music collective that was among the first wave of Chicago DJs and producers who created what became known as House Music. Since 1990, the collective – Williams, Jesse Saunders, Tony Hatchett, Alan King, Andre Hatchett, Terry Hunter, and Mike Dunn, along with childhood friend, Kim Parham – have organized the Chosen Few Picnic & House Music Festival in Chicago, drawing more than 40,000 fans from across the globe. Additionally, the Chosen Few DJs host events in cities across the United States and perform at festivals around the world, and produce award-winning, chart-topping music. About Protect Chicago Music Series: Protect Chicago Music Series events are exclusively for fully COVID-19 vaccinated Chicagoans. A partnership between the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), the Protect Chicago Music Series will include a variety of musical events taking place across Chicago as an incentive and benefit for Chicagoans who receive a COVID-19 vaccine to protect their families, communities, and themselves.
