The Alum Rock Park Rangers are hosting a FREE 60-minute guided hike along historical trails. The Alum Rock Park Rangers are hosting a FREE 60-minute guided hike along Penitencia Creek Trail. This low difficulty hike is approximately 1.5 mile and perfect for all ages and skill levels. Park rangers will educate hikers on the natural and cultural history of the park, wildlife, and seasonal flora and fauna along the deep box canyon. Please dress for the weather, wear comfortable closed-toed walking or hiking shoes, and bring plenty of water and snacks. Please have a face mask available with you. This hike is not wheelchair accessible. The meeting location will be at the Log Cabin, which is near the visitor center at 9:50 a.m. every Sunday, starting August 22, 2021. Participants will park in the upper lot. Before the hike starts, you will be give a parking pass to display on your dash. Please register for this free event at least 24 hours in advance. Attendance is capped at 15 participants per event. No walk ins available.
