David brings Danny Tate and Savino Palumbo to the Valley Jazz Jam at the Sky Stage. Local musicians are invited to sit in with the band. David studied guitar, electric bass, and drums throughout his childhood. The bass became more and more his focus, and a growing interest in jazz led him to take up the double bass in high school. After beginning lessons, he quickly fell in love with classical bass playing just as much as jazz, and has performed as a freelance bassist in the Baltimore/Washington area since 2005, in jazz combos, rock bands, orchestras, and just about any other genre or ensemble. His formal education began at Hood College in Frederick, where he obtained a B.A. in Music History & Literature and is currently pursuing a Master's in bass performance at Manhattan School of Music in the studio of Jeremy McCoy.
