NEWTON, MA — Newton Community Pride has removed the "Artful Piano" in Newton Highlands due to damages that have rendered it unplayable. The piano, titled "All That Jazz," has been located outside Lakon Paris Patisserie on Walnut St. since Tuesday, July 20, when nine pianos painted by local artists were delivered to various locations in the city and tuned for anyone to enjoy. "All That Jazz" was painted by Cindy Cole and Myra Abelson, who used a multicolored, abstract approach in their artwork. "Sadly our beautiful piano in Newton Highlands had to be removed because it is no longer playable," says a Newton Community Pride Twitter post. "The July rains, heat, humidity or some prankster was just too much for our lovely 'All that Jazz' RIP."
