NEWTON, MA — A car was swept into Cheesecake Brook along Albermarle Rd. Thursday afternoon due to flash flooding, said Newton Fire Department. Fire officials said the car hit a small footbridge before landing on its side in the water. The vehicle was unoccupied during the incident and no injuries were reported, but both the car and the footbridge were significantly damaged. We have an unoccupied car into Cheesecake brook. No further information has been released.
