Newly retired male looking for a musical partnership with one or two others. I see working with a songwriter, singer, and instrumentalist, likely piano or guitar. You fill out your set with some tasteful covers. I’m your bassist / accompanist. Other configurations work too but this would be my ideal at this point. I’m a lifelong beginner on guitar, bass, tenor sax and piano. Some people I like are the quieter Rolling Stones like Wild Horses and Angie, Dylan, Neil Young, Tom Petty, R&B, Blues, Soul, 60’s &c 70’s rock. I’ve been studying old country music and folk music like Woody Guthrie lately and listening to Ella and Louis. Someone contemporary I like a lot is Rhiannon Giddens. I also like playing old standards like Summertime and Blue Moon. You will be more advanced than me. We’ll run through what I need to do and in a week or so I’ll have it. It would be fun to play for people but I’m more interested right now in just playing and see what happens. I'm open to playing gigs but only when we're solid. Maybe we'll each do a few things and trade off on instruments, but let's keep it simple and tasteful.
