NEW HAVEN, CT —It was 3 in the morning on Lombard Street when shots rang out, police said. New Haven police got a Shotspotter alert about gunfire on Lombard between Poplar and Ferry streets, police spokesperson officer Scott Shumway said. As police were securing a "crime scene in the area," New Haven Dispatch received a 911 call from Yale New Haven Hospital reporting a 39-year-old East Haven man had arrived at the hospital by private vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. He was treated for injuries and was listed in stable condition. Police have not released the victim's name. Police ask that any witnesses who have not yet spoken with the Police contact the New Haven Police Department Investigative Services Division at 203-946-6304.
