Press release from the West Des Moines Police Department: 08/19/2021 2:24 PM   On Saturday, August 21st, 2021 Officers from the West Des Moines Police Department in collaboration with the Central Iowa Traffic Safety Task Force and the Governor's Traffic Safety Bureau will be conducting a special traffic safety operation.  During this project, there will be an increase in officer presence and enforcement throughout the city.  Officers will be focusing on all traffic violations, with an emphasis on seatbelt usage and impaired driving.  The safety of the community, roadways and all residents remain a top priority of the West Des Moines Police Department.  This increased enforcement is intended to serve as a reminder for all drivers to obey traffic laws and do their part in keeping Iowa roadways safe.   Sergeant Jason Heintz West Des Moines Police Department Public Information Officer  ###   This press release was produced by the West Des Moines Police Department.
