Press release from the Richland County Government: August 19, 2021 Residents of the Lower Richland community can get the COVID-19 vaccine and take advantage of other services at a one-stop-shop hosted by County Councilwoman Cheryl English, District 10. The free event includes a mobile vaccination site run by Prisma Health, a book bag and book giveaway for children, and voter registration opportunities. In addition, staff from Richland County's Office of Small Business Opportunity will be available to meet with business owners and potential business owners. Richland Library staff will also be on hand to discuss the library's programs. Residents can drop by the event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28 at Hopkins Middle School, 1601 Clarkson Road, Hopkins. An appointment is not required to get the vaccine at the event. English said she hopes residents use the opportunity to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in Richland County. "With the love and concern that I have for our community, I really want to see us move beyond" COVID-19, English said. "I want to see people safe, and I would love to get back to some sense of normalcy." Book bags are limited and will be distributed first-come, first-serve.
