CONCORD, NH — Henri, a tropical storm with winds 10 mph below hurricane status, appears to be heading to New England and New Hampshire — and is expected to become a hurricane. The latest forecast data, including this report from AccuWeather.com, has the storm coming "dangerously close" to New England, possibly hitting the Cape and the Islands by 8 p.m. on Sunday and then, trailing off the coast of Maine by 8 p.m. on Monday. Henri has winds at 65 mph as of 8 p.m. on Thursday and is around 500 miles of the U.S. coast. Rip currents along New Hampshire's beaches are expected to be strong from Sunday to Wednesday with rough surf and coastal flooding; power outages and downpours are expected. Peak gusts of between 40 and 60 mph, with highs at 90 mph, could be in the region between 2 p.m. on Sunday through 2 a.m. on Monday. Here is everything else going on in New Hampshire right now. Bedford Soccer Coach Sent To Prison Matthew Dion, 49, of Bedford, a former soccer coach, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for attempted sexual exploitation of a minor. In April 2020, an organization involved in assisting foreign exchange students contacted Bedford police about a 15-year-old boy who was staying at Dion's home and believed he was video recorded while showering. The boy found a camera hidden inside a device that looked like a pen in a bathroom he used. The boy was removed from the home and police, while searching devices in the home, found an SD card that had been reformatted the day after the boy was removed from Dion's home. Dion pleaded guilty in May. After serving his time, Dion will be on supervised release for five years and also is responsible for paying $30,000 to the boy as well as a $5,000 assessment fee.
