LA GRANGE, IL — Tim O'Brien, vice president of the Park District of La Grange board, has been nominated to fill a vacancy on the La Grange Village Board. In a memo, Village President Mark Kuchler said he received applications from a number of "very capable and talented" residents. After reviewing the candidates, he said he decided to nominate O'Brien. On Monday, the Village Board is expected to vote on the nomination. "His enthusiasm and dedication to serving the public will be beneficial to the residents of La Grange," Kuchler said in the memo. O'Brien has been on the park board since 2019. He is also the marketing manager for the workers compensation division at Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies, according to his LinkedIn page. In 1994, he received his bachelor's degree in retail management from Purdue University. He graduated from Nazareth Academy in La Grange Park in 1989. Last month, the trustee seat became vacant with the resignation of Mike Matteucci, who served on the board for two months. At the time, Kuchler read Matteucci's resignation letter. The trustee stated his resignation would be effective immediately, saying he had a conflict of interest on the flooding issue. Patch left a message for comment with O'Brien.
