CHICAGO — A 9-year-old boy is in stable condition after a shooting that also left a 22-year-old man injured in Chicago's Pullman neighborhood Friday afternoon, officials said. Police found the young boy lying on a sidewalk after responding to a call of shots fired in the 400 block of East 111th Street just before noon. Fire officials took him to Comer Children's Hospital with a gunshot wound to the right forearm, Chicago police said. The 22-year-old man was taken to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his left leg. His condition is unknown. Police told reporters that three people in a gray Dodge Durango pulled up to the area, and two of them got out of the car and fired shots. All three fled in the vehicle southbound on Vernon Avenue. The 9-year-old is the fourth child under 10 years old to be shot in the city the past week. A 7-year-old boy was shot in the abdomen in Ukrainian Village Wednesday night, and a 7-year-old girl was shot and killed on the city's North Side over the weekend. Her 6-year-old sister also suffered two gunshot wounds. No one is in custody for Friday's shooting, authorities said. Anyone with information can leave an anonymous tip at cpdtip.com.
