HELPSY – the largest clothing collection company in the Northeast, will be opening a kiosk at the Long Island Tanger Outlets in Riverhead and Deer Park. These Kiosk locations will offer residents and shoppers a place to recycle unwanted clothes and textiles. The Kiosks will be open weekends (Saturday and Sunday) beginning Saturday, August 7 between 11 am–6 pm. Shoppers are encouraged to bring bagged, clean, and dry clothing, accessories, shoes and sneakers, stuffed animals, bedding (sheets, blankets, and quilts), towels, table linens and curtains. Worn, torn items or items missing buttons are acceptable. For a full list of acceptable items, please see attached. HELPSY partners with municipalities and organizations across ten states to collect unwanted clothing and other textiles. Through a combination of clothing drives, collection bins, thrift store partners and curbside pickups, HELPSY diverts 30 million pounds of textiles from landfills every year. “HELPSY is dedicated to changing the way people think about clothing recycling while adhering to the highest level of social and environmental performance,” said HELPSY’S CEO and Co-Founder Dan Green.
