Press release from the Atlanta Police Department: 08/08/2021 212201198 Preliminary Information: On 8/8/21, officers responded to 625 Piedmont Ave NE in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a female who stated the male she lives with verbally threatened to harm her. Officers escorted the female away to safety and attempted to make contact with the male inside the apartment. The male refused to come to the door and threatened to harm the officers if they advanced inside. Officers quickly established a perimeter around the location while continuing efforts to peacefully negotiate with the male to exit the apartment. It is unknown if the male has any weapons or if he is still present at the location at this time. There are no injuries reported as the investigation continues.  Please keep in mind the above information is preliminary in nature and can change as the investigation progresses and new information comes to light.
