Civil Engineering Contractor seeking a Diesel / Heavy Equipment Mechanic to be responsible for the restoration, repair and readiness of all vehicles and heavy equipment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -Repair and Maintain as needed (including but not limited to, Excavators, Bulldozers, Backhoes, Loaders, Rollers, Dump Trucks, Water Trucks, Skid Steers and Yard Trucks). -Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, change parts, paint and complete tasks as assigned. -Install, adjust, and repair production equipment, heavy trucks and special purpose machines as assigned. -Test and troubleshoot machinery, determine repairs and discuss with Head Mechanic for approval and repair as needed. -Lubricate and clean parts and equipment to ensure proper operation. -Maintain work area appearance and safety. JOB REQUIREMENTS -Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record -- maintained at all times. -Capable of working individually and within a team environment at all times. -Ability to perform independently without direct supervision. -Safe work habits and history. -Ability to operate a variety of heavy equipment. -Must have own tools.
