Description
Must read through the whole post!
I am re-homing my 26 year old female blue and gold macaw. She is a plucker (belly, chest and under her wings). She started when we moved cross country 4 years ago and nothing we did stopped her. I do not see any regrowth but hopefully I can find someone to help her through her anxiety.
You MUST have macaw/big bird experience. You MUST realize that macaws sometimes don't adapt very well to change and will act out until they settle in. She can and will nip. She has never punctured the skin though. She is not a "kid friendly" bird. You must provide your own cage and toys. She is not to become a breeder bird. No apartments/condos/etc due to the strength of her voice.
She does say a few things and can be super cuddly, but on her terms. She is on medium Pretty Bird pellets and loves pistachios.
I am located in Monticello but can deliver for a fee (no farther than 45 min travel). There is a re-homing fee of $350 and if you want her large carrier it will be $400. Otherwise please bring your own.
Again, she is not for beginners. She needs a 'large bird' experienced family only.
