Ankeny Sanitation is actively hiring Residential/Commercial Route Drivers in the Ankeny, IA area. As a Residential/Commercial Driver, you will operate heavy-duty trucks to collect residential household or commercial waste/yard material. Drivers transport the material to a disposal or transfer facility once the load capacity is reached. Job Duties: • Safely maneuver the vehicle in residential environments • Navigate high-traffic and congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and document checks utilizing the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) • Immediately report all unsafe situations or service-related issues to the Route Manager or Dispatch • Operate the vehicle in accordance with company policy, OSHA, and DOT requirements as well as all local, state, and federal laws Job Requirements: • Class A or Class B CDL with an air-brake endorsement preferred; must have ability to obtain CDL, if not already obtained prior to employment • Authorized to work in the United States • Experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or equivalent experience such as farm or military equipment Benefits: • Medical, dental, life insurance; coverage begins immediately • Short-term disability • 401(k) with company match; vested on day one of employment • Paid vacation • Holiday pay Ankeny Sanitation is eager to welcome new team members who can assist with the company’s mission of providing responsive and dependable waste management services to residents, businesses, contractors, and municipal customers throughout the great Des Moines/Ankeny metro area.
