Grand Blvd. Corona, CA 92879 _____________________________ The purpose of the PLANT ASSOCIATE position is to safely and efficiently perform various duties required to treat regulated medical waste within the company’s treatment facility. The Plant Associate will: -unload laden containers -scan and weigh laden containers -move containers -empty containers -wash containers -load clean containers onto company trucks for delivery to customer locations. Plant associates will practice safe work methods and will perform tasks as assigned by the department (Plant) manager. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1) Arrive to work on-time; prepared for work and fit for duty at the scheduled daily start times. 2) Handle containers and equipment in a safe manner and immediately report any injury, no matter how minor, to a supervisor. 3) Inspect equipment daily for safe operation before and after each shift and immediately report concerns. 4) Ensure that containers and equipment are properly loaded for each route. 5) Take all required / scheduled rest (breaks) and meal periods for each shift. 6) Inspect containers for damage and cleanliness and report any problems to a supervisor. 7) Accurately complete any assigned paperwork, records or checklists for each shift, if applicable. 8) Follow company policies, procedures and rules at all times while on-duty. 9) Report any delays or production concerns to a supervisor promptly. 10) Practice safe lifting and attend all scheduled safety meetings. 11) Seek assistance or help when required to handle heavy or irregular items. 12) Properly scan and weigh containers using the PC Scale operating system. 13) Confirm that all assigned work is completed with a supervisor prior to ending each shift. 14) Additional job duties, shifts or tasks may be assigned by a Supervisor. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Normal setting for this job is: Warehouse environment, minimum eight (8) hours per shift Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday with some Weekend and Holiday shifts required. Plant shifts do NOT have an end time; employees must be relieved of duty prior to clocking out. Schedule subject to change based on production needs and customer requirements. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Required to use motor coordination and to exert physical effort throughout the entire shift which involves standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending, twisting, pushing and pulling heavy objects and materials. Required to identify and understand safety instruction and hazard warnings including signage, pictograms, labeling, postings, barriers, sirens, caution lights and color-coded container content systems.
