The equipment being left behind in Afghanistan no longer belongs to the U.S. This was equipment that was donated to the Afghani military in hopes that they could defend their own freedom with it. This equipment was never intended to come back from Afghanistan. B. The U.S. intelligence did not predict that the Afghani military and the Afghani government would turn tail and run. Our military leaders believed that the Afghani military would use this equipment to secure their own borders giving the U.S. time to get out. It was understood that the Afghani military would use this equipment to secure their own freedom. They did not. The Afghani government fled the country. The Afghani military ran like cowards. 20 years of U.S. support in Afghanistan was a complete and utter waste. George Bush should be answering for this debacle.
