We brought our dog, Koa, at 8 pm on Aug 19 to a place to board while we’re on vacation. We are scheduled to leave on a flight at 7 am this morning. At 11:54 pm, we received a call from the person watching her saying she stepped on something on a lawn, got spooked, pulled out of her collar and took off running. He and his wife chased her and then went driving around their neighborhood looking for her. We immediately got in our car and drove around the neighborhood for three hours looking for her. She was lost in the College Glen area of Sacramento (at 3130 Occidental Dr - behind Roma Pizzeria II). We have postponed our vacation and desperately want to find her. She is truly our family member. If you know anyone in the College Greens area, are on pet groups on SM, work with a vet or have any other ideas, can you please help? My kids are heartbroken.
Koa is a 1 year old boxer mix. She is golden in color and has a withe stipe down her nose and a light pink spot on her actual nose. She is very sweet but skittish. She may not come to you if called. She is not aggressive but her hair goes up on her back when strangers approach. She comes to Koa, Ko Ko Bear and Rue. If you see her, please call us immediately. She is chipped but the information goes back to the rescue we got her from (Dogwood Animal Rescue). We have notified Dogwood and Front Street Animal Shelter. We will also contact Bradshaw Animal Shelter and vets in the area. Any other ideas and assistance would be greatly appreciated. We are heartbroken and need to know she’s okay. Thank you.
