Fundamentals of Trauma Healing Workshop offers attendees both the biblical and clinical foundations for counseling survivors of trauma. Workshop Information Are you a counselor wanting to learn how to care for trauma survivors? Are you a family member or friend wanting to understand trauma in order to better care for a loved one? Join us on Friday, Nov 5th (6:00-8:45pm) and Saturday, Nov 6th (8:30am-4:00pm) at Winfield Baptist Church (Winfield, WV) for a Fundamentals of Trauma Healing Workshop to learn both the biblical and clinical foundations for counseling survivors of trauma. Lunch will be provided on Saturday. This workshop will include training on the following topics. Trauma & the Biblical Worldview The Body/Soul ConnectionChildhood Attachment and TraumaThe Three Stages of HealingSelf-Care for Trauma Helpers Trainers Eliza Huie is a counselor, author, speaker, and trainer committed to providing care and resources for the whole person. Trained both biblically and clinically, she understands the complexities people face in their spiritual, emotional, and physical lives. Eliza holds a MA in Counseling and has advanced certificates in biblical counseling from The Christian Counseling Educational Foundation (CCEF) and the Association of Biblical Counselors (ABC). She is also a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) and has specialized training in trauma care, including EMDR (modified to include gospel applications). Eliza is the director of counseling at McLean Bible Church located in the Washington D.C. metro area. She is the Dean of Biblical Counseling for Metro Baltimore Seminary in Maryland.Beth Broom is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) and Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist (CCTS-I), as well as a Level 3 Certified Biblical Counselor through the Association of Biblical Counselors. She owns a private counseling practice specializing in trauma healing. She also serves as the Care Minister at The Village Church Denton in Denton, Texas. Beth is the founder of Christian Trauma Healing Network, an international association designed to bring trauma care and healing to Christians in the Church and society. CrossPointe exists to train and equip believers to counsel to word of God to those hurting and in need of help, especially in our region of West Virginia.
