Join us to celebrate the NEW Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge! Mayor Muriel Bowser invites residents of all ages and abilities to join The Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge 5K on Monday, September 6, 2021 at 9:00 am! Residents from across all eight wards are invited to celebrate the opening with a day of family-friendly fun, food, live music, and a multimodal parade. Event Schedule 7:30am - T-Shirt Pick-up opens. All registered 5K participants will receive a commemorative logo t-shirt. 9:00am - The 5K Fun Run/Walk begins. The fun run/walk will start at Audi Field, continue through the Anacostia River Trail, and end on the new Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge. 10:00am - 2:00pm - Post-Race Festival & Parade. After the 5K, Mayor Bowser and the District Department of Transportation will host a community celebration of the iconic opening of the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge! Register Today!
