Description

A concert inspired from our ever-changing world featuring works by Vivaldi, Handel and Stravinsky. Nuts and Bolts refers to the fundamentals or practicalities of concert-making, given how our world has been reshaped. This concert features works by Vivaldi and Handel for strings only. Next is music by a young Strauss where at age 17 composed a serenade that helped to launch his composing and conducting career. The concert will end with the groundbreaking work, Octet, by Stravinsky. In the early 20th century, at a time when artists were looking for new styles, Stravinsky, yet again, lead the way with this Neo-classic work, full of 18th century mannerisms. Concert is one-hour long with no intermission. The program includes: Handel - Concerto Grosso, op. 6, No.1 (strings)Vivaldi – Double Violin Concerto, op.3, No.8, A minor (strings) Strauss, R. – Serenade, op. 7 (winds)Stravinsky – Octet (winds)COVID Protocols: Each attendee is required to wear a mask covering nose and mouth throughout the concert.
