First Annual EMA Heroes s Walk. A Charity Walk to Fight Against Elder Abuse! You are invited to be a sponsor at the First Annual EMA Heroes Walk. The Walk will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 9 am - 1 pm at Pride Park in Taylor Mill, KY. All proceeds will benefit EMA (Elder Maltreatment Alliance) and SARAH (Sheltering, Advocating Removing and Housing). The EMA and SARAH committees are non-profits that support our most vulnerable senior Kentuckians through the support and collaboration with the NKY Area Development District. Our mission is to coordinate a community wide cooperative response to the ethical concerns regarding at risk older adults, while enhancing supports and education to providers. While we are incredibly excited to announce our EMA Heroes Walk as a way to raise funds for our organizations, we also hope to increase awareness about elder maltreatment and to celebrate our common goal to improve the welfare of those living in our community as well as their families, friends and supporters. In addition to the walk, our celebration will include food and drink, lawn games, face painting and collaboration for the common good. We are reaching out to our friends, colleagues and business community to show support for our organizations and allow us to pursue our mission to help those in need to live full and vibrant lives.
