Come have some free fun at this train-themed social event! Held indoors in South Ogden, we'll hang out, play games, and watch a film. Join us for a free, family-friendly social activity with a train theme! Come hang out in South Ogden at the newly train-themed Gandy Dancer Mercantile, then head next door to the Ziegfeld Theater to view a documentary on the history of the railroads in Ogden. This is a free, pop-up event in conjunction with The Great Ogden Scavenger Hunt - Train Edition. No game admission or purchases required. Read below for a schedule of events and activity opportunities. **5:00pm-6:30pm (open house): Gandy Dancer Mercantile, 3920 Washington Blvd, Ogden -FREE: Drop by anytime to hang out on one of the cozy leather couches or quaint tables in the Gandy Dancer Mercantile (do you know what a Gandy Dancer is??). Tuck into one of their many used books, or play one of the train board games that Hunt For Glory Scavenger Hunts will be bringing along. Enjoy the jazz background music. Check out the fun train art and items around the shop, and their train-named breakfast and lunch menu items for next time. Chill. -FREE: Try out a mini Hunt For Glory scavenger hunt around the shop and be entered to win a Taboo Pizza hat and gift card after the film. -FREE: Chat with documentary filmmaker, Issac Goeckeritz, before heading to the theater to view his enlightening and informative peek at life in Ogden during the height of the railroad era, and after... -$: Light dinner options available! Or enjoy an ice cream or Italian soda, coffee or pot of tea, or partake in a Golden Spike Muffin. -$: Purchase discounted admission for the final weekend of The Great Ogden Scavenger Hunt - Train Edition! All missions are outdoor, train-related locations around Ogden. Open through Labor Day. **6:30pm-8:00pm (6:30pm start): The Ziegfeld Theater, 3934 Washington Blvd, Ogden -FREE: Enjoy the documentary, “Ogden: Junction City of the West” (80 minutes). Learn something. -FREE: Check out The Zig. Hear about their upcoming shows and kids programs. -FREE: Drawing for Taboo pizza gift card and hat after the film, based on mini-hunt participation -$: If we have enough people in attendance, The Zig will open their concessions!
