APL Membership Gathering From Global Samaritan Resources: "Global Samaritan Resources is in the process of putting together a humanitarian aid food shipment weighing in at over 77,000 pounds. Two forty-foot containers filled with boxes of life-giving food are ready to ship to displaced peoples and refugee camps in the northern areas of Iraq, who are constantly in need of food for their children. Here's where you come in: We need inside champions. We need individuals, teams, church members, Sunday School classes, youth groups, men's groups, women's groups, life groups and MORE to champion the cause of hunger in early September, pouring out love and hope. Would you help to organize folks of all ages to participate in a special event that we call FOOD & HOPE? We are looking for those who would DONATE and those who would COLOR!" Abilene Preservation League board members are sponsoring a few of these boxes on behalf of the APL. We welcome members to join us in decorating these boxes or to sponsor additional boxes. We are gathering at Global Samaritan Resources on Wednesday, September 8th, 2021, from 6 - 8:30 pm. If you would like to join our group, please RSVP through this page so we know who to expect (whether you are decorating or sponsoring additional boxes). About the Abilene Preservation League We are a non-profit organization established in 1977 to promote and facilitate preservation of historical sites and buildings in Abilene, TX. We promote alternatives to demolition when structures or sites are threatened with loss, due to neglect and deterioration or new site development. The Abilene Preservation League promotes increased public awareness and participates with other public and private organizations to save, restore and preserve historically significant structures in Abilene, TX.
