Centerstone's Connections program will host a poverty simulation and all community providers are invited to participate! Centerstone's Connections program will host a poverty simulation and all community providers are invited to participate in the learning experience. Poverty is often portrayed as a stand alone issue, but this simulation allows individuals to walk in the shoes of someone who is facing poverty and realize how complex and interconnected issues of poverty really are. The simulation involves participants taking on roles of families facing a variety of challenging, but typical, circumstances, as well as roles of community resource providers. This event helps break down stereotypes by allowing participants to momentarily experience the challenges that poverty creates. Registration is required.
