** Closes Monday, 12pm noon on August 23, 2021** Bellingham Technical College is recruiting for a regular classified swing shift Custodian position. The position reports under the direct supervision of the Facilities Director and may also take direction from the assigned Lead(s). The position will perform a variety of routine housekeeping, custodial and light maintenance duties to maintain the cleanliness and care of the college facilities within assigned areas. These duties include, but are not limited to cleaning buildings, restrooms, outdoor areas, stocking supplies, and moving furniture. The position is anticipated to begin in September, 2021. Minimum Qualifications: Physical ability to do required work. Preferred Qualifications: More than one year of full-time custodian/Facilities experience; High school diploma or GED certificate or vocational or technical training in custodial trades; valid Washington State driver's license; Forklift Certification; experience working in a college or public school environment. Salary is in accordance with the negotiated agreement with Teamsters, Custodian. The salary starts at $2,648 per month, $15.22 per hour, with annual increments thereafter up to $3,379 per month ($19.42 per hour) after 5 years of BTC experience in a regular custodian position. Position receives sick, personal and vacation leave accruals, paid state holidays, and a Washington State insurance and retirement benefits package. The regular work schedule for this position is an 8-hour swing shift, Monday through Friday, starting between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. and ending between 1a.m. and 4a.m. Occasional alternate shifts may be required, to provide for coverage for college events, projects, or inclement weather. Swing shift positions can start anywhere between 5pm and 8pm.
