Schweikher House: Art & Architecture. Take a docent-led bus tour and experience a trifecta of local history, famous architecture, and art. In conjunction with the Schaumburg Township and the Schaumburg Township District Library, the Schaumburg Township Historical Society is organizing a docent-led bus tour on Saturday, September 18. Participants will experience a trifecta of local history, famous architecture, and art. First stop is Schweikher House for a full 1-hour, docent-led tour of the studio, house and grounds. Second stop is the Schaumburg Township District Library where you’ll enjoy a presentation by local historian librarian Jane Rozek on notable artist Martyl Langsdorf and her collection owned by the Library, plus additional unique artwork. The bus tour starts with check-in at the Schaumburg Township building 1 Illinois Blvd. Hoffman Estates, IL at 9:00 a.m., with return at 1:00 p.m. Doors open at 8:45 a.m. Bus docents will share fun facts about historic sites and landmarks along each route. The cost of the tour is $25.00. This event is intended for adults 18 years and older. Space is limited. For additional information, call 847-340-0112.
