Sunset Cinema Society screening of the film 13th Warrior - followed by a Q&A with Warren Lewis & William Wisher (the writers) Join the Sunset Cinema Society for a screening of the feature film "13th Warrior" starring Antonio Banderas. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film's writers Warren Lewis and William Wisher. A Muslim ambassador exiled from his homeland, Ahmad ibn Fadlan finds himself in the company of Vikings. While the behavior of the Norsemen initially offends ibn-i Fadlan, the more cultured outsider grows to respect the tough, if uncouth, warriors. During their travels together, ibn Fadlan and the Vikings get word of an evil presence closing in, and they must fight the frightening and formidable force, which was previously thought to exist only in legend. Sunset Masonic Lodge #369 Free & Accepted Masons formed in what was Ocean Park, California in 1905. Ocean Park would be divided to become part of Santa Monica, as well as forming what is now Venice Beach. Our Lodge has contributed three Grand Masters to the State of California, as well as one member who served as Grand High Priest of the General Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons. Sunset is a family oriented lodge, including our wives and significant others in a wide range of activities. We are a hard working but laid back lodge, with a core of highly talented individuals – many from the arts community. This has infused our lodge with a lot of character, to the benefit of all. Sunset Lodge is also a progressive lodge. In the past ten years, we have established a reputation for creating innovative programs such as Solvitur Ambulando (our Masonic and general interest philosophy club.) Our lodge is renown for our Masonic Education activities, with a number of other lodges in California now modeling programs after those that first took root in our lodge. The performing arts forms another important aspect of our Lodge. We regular hold our Traveler’s Session where the performers and recording artists along with guest share their musical gifts. We also have a number of members who work in the film business and, as the Sunset Cinema Society, screen films on a periodic basis. If you are in the Santa Monica area, come and check us out.
