The Shepherd Hotel, Downtown Clemson cordially invites you to a Hard Hat Tour & Roof Wetting* Event Friday September 10 Join The Shepherd Hotel development and operations team to celebrate the completion of the top floor of the hotel’s structure at 389 College Avenue. Guests may take a guided hard hat tour of the hotel and Delish Sisters’ restaurant and then join supporters and partners for a tented brunch reception behind the Mashburn Construction office located across from the Shepherd Hotel at 11:00AM. 9:00 a.m. | Hard Hat Tours Tours will be given on the half hour with the last tour beginning at 10:30 a.m. 11:00 a.m | Reception Brunch includes a welcome from Shepherd Hotel's Co-Founders Rich Davies and Rick Hayduk as well as the Delish Sisters Details: The hotel is an active construction site projected to open in early 2022. Personal protective equipment will be provided, and guests are asked to wear closed toed shoes or preferably boots as we will be touring the active jobsite. Parking information will be provided as we get closer to the event. *What’s a Roof Wetting? Customary in South Africa, the birth country of Rich Davies, when new houses, apartment blocks, and office buildings have their roofs completed, to seal out the rain, wind and moisture, locals celebrate with a roof wetting on the roof. Usually, an owner / contractor / builder are the key persons, and they climb onto the roof via a ladder (or the stairwell in our case). A bottle of champagne is either poured on the roof or is shared (or both).
